Role Overview: As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy of multiple high-growth beauty brands within our incubator platform. Reporting to the executive team, you will lead all financial operations, drive funding and investment strategies, and ensure the sustainable, scalable growth of their portfolio companies. This role demands a world-class financial leader with extensive experience in scaling beauty startups with global ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with their mission to scale beauty startups into global brands. Provide strategic insights and direction to the executive team.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the financial health and performance of multiple beauty startups within the portfolio, guiding them through various stages of growth, from early-stage development to market expansion.
- Global Expansion: Lead financial strategies that support the international growth of their brands, including market entry, cross-border transactions, and global tax planning.
- Fundraising & Capital Allocation: Spearhead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, to fuel the growth of their portfolio brands. Manage relationships with investors, ensuring alignment with the organisations financial goals.
- Risk Management: Implement robust financial controls and risk management practices to safeguard the financial integrity of the organisation and its portfolio companies.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes, ensuring data-driven decision-making and optimal resource allocation.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with brand leaders and cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency, driving profitability and scaling operations in line with growth targets.
- Mergers & Acquisitions: Identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities that align with organisations growth strategy. Oversee the financial due diligence process and integration of acquired entities.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Travel; This role is based between London, and New York City. The CFO will be required to travel frequently between these locations and other global markets as necessary to support the growth of the organisation and its brands.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience (though we consider all levels) in senior financial leadership roles, with a proven track record of scaling beauty startups and managing financial operations in high-growth environments. Experience with global market expansion is essential.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or CPA is preferred.
- Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the beauty industry, with experience in consumer goods, fashion, or related sectors. Familiarity with the dynamics of beauty brand scaling is crucial.
- Global Perspective: Demonstrated experience managing financial operations across multiple geographies, with expertise in international finance, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership & Influence: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation in the beauty sector.
- Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling, analysis, and forecasting skills, with proficiency in financial systems and tools.

Role Overview:
As the Finance Director you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial strategy and operations of the beauty brand portfolio. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring that the brands are positioned for sustainable growth and success. This role requires a hands-on financial leader with a strong background in fast-paced, high-growth environments and a passion for the beauty industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis to support strategic decision-making across the brand portfolio.
- Financial Reporting including monthly management accounts, P&L statements, and cash flow analysis, to the CFO and executive team.
- Budget Management: Oversee the development, management, and monitoring of budgets for each beauty brand, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Operational Finance: Collaborate with brand teams to optimize financial processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support key initiatives, such as product launches and market expansions.
- Cost Control: Implement and manage cost control measures to improve profitability, including analyzing and optimizing cost structures, pricing strategies, and margin performance.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity, supporting the CFO in capital allocation decisions and investment strategies.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, identifying and mitigating financial risks across the portfolio.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and product development, to provide financial insights and support business growth.
- Financial Systems: Oversee the maintenance and improvement of financial systems and tools, ensuring accurate data management and reporting capabilities.
- Support Fundraising Efforts: Assist the CFO in preparing financial models, due diligence materials, and investor presentations for fundraising and M&A activities.
- Travel; This role is based between London, and New York City. The Finance Director will be required to travel between these locations and potentially other international markets as necessary.
Qualifications needed;
- Experience: substantial years of experience in finance roles, with a strong background in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Experiences gained in the beauty/cosmetics sector, preferably within luxury/prestige brands.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis. Advanced knowledge of financial systems and tools, with experience in ERP systems being advantageous
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Team Player: Collaborative and supportive approach, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making at all levels.
- Global Perspective: Experience in international finance and an understanding of global markets and currency dynamics are desirable.
- Entrepreneurial Drive: A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for the beauty industry and the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
